Barnson’s geotechnical and materials testing services are the most comprehensive in the region.
Our multidisciplinary team approach offers you a clear point of difference, because we thoroughly understand what you are building as well as the structural requirements to ensure its integrity and longevity. This combined capability and experience ensures that our geotechnical designs and investigations always meet your needs.
We work with clients across NSW, from large scale mining, civil and industrial projects through to residential site classifications and foundation designs.
Our services include:
- Commercial, industrial and residential development investigations
- Pavement investigations and design for a wide range of civil projects including urban and rural roads, roundabouts, rail and other large scale works
- Construction and earthwork quality reports including onsite monitoring

NATA accredited laboratories (Dubbo and Bathurst)
Barnson operates two NATA testing laboratories in the region to provide stand alone, accredited and quality assured materials testing services.
We also have an accredited annex (onsite) laboratory available for high volume, site specific testing such as during development or build phases of projects and we are pre-approved by the RTA for testing on major roads and intersections.
Our testing services include:
- Concrete sampling and compression tests
- Aggregate sampling and particle size distribution
- Comprehensive soil testing including sampling, classification, compaction tests, field density tests, bearing strength tests and soil reactivity tests
- Structural tests for road pavements and surfaces
